In my mind I sit and dream…dream of all that I want to be
In my mind I sit and dream…dream of all that I want to do
In my mind I sit and dream…dream of all that could be …
In my mind I sit and dream…dream of all that I miss…
In my mind I sit and dream…for here it is safe…

In the darkness of my mind I find a light,
A light that may not be real…yet it does not matter here…
I am spared all that the light does not reveal.
Here in my mind I am safe.

When the world comes crashing down…
One rock at a time…
I can sit and dream…
The world but a feint whisper…

When I open my eyes it’s all still there…
Shocking and true.
I see all that I want to be but never will be
I see all that I want to do but never will do
I see all that I could be but never will be
I see all that I miss but it is still missing…

I see that no-where is safe…it is only an illusion
For no doors or walls can hold out the truth forever
