Dream Poem by Khalid Hameed

I woke up
from a dream,
that was intense
and extreme,
horrified,
petrified,
numb.
walked outside,
with my eyes open wide
thought I’d lost you
looked for you
all around,
nowhere to be found.
feel I might fall down
so much pain
but true,
you were not here,
not even there
and when I thought
(my) life would end
without you,
(I) found you
again, far away
in someone else’s
arms,
with your charms
dark beautiful big eyes,
dark brown hair,
like thunderous sky
very dark,
all over tattoo’s
reds, greens, and
some of them blues
you sitting by
someone else,
I want to talk
to you,
tell you,
that....
can’t open my mouth
sealed shut,
sewn
ah, my pain
and a little moan
can’t say,
what’s inside
I wish I could
push aside,
all my fears,
and stop
being a man
with no pride
