Dream Catcher Poem by Emily Gedig

Dream Catcher

Rating: 0.5

Dream Catcher;
Who waits in silence;
crouched on the shelf above my bed;
all day and all night
waiting for the sandman
to sprinkle his sand over my eyes.

You shift begins;
watching carefully,
as dreams pass you by as they float down towards my head.
You leap out and destroy those that may harm me,
and cause me pain.

Dream Catcher,
you have never let me down.
You have kept me from those brutal things i see with consciousness
You protect my soul,
Guard against the demons fighting to get inside me,
to scratch away my strength.

So, Dream Catcher,
I thank you for your dedication.
Dedication to keeping me safe,
and whole.
Without you my mind would have been lost by now.

Thank you,
Emily
