Dreaming Of A Memory Poem by Stuart Doggett

Dreaming Of A Memory

Holding onto pictures left stranded in my head,
Images of things I had and later found were dead,
Staring at them one by one, a ghost in the scene,
I haunt fading memories, glittering at the seams.
Oh, to wallow in the pain of sentences already said,
Dreaming of a time when my thoughts were always led,
Slowly sadly smiling at voices I can see,
All the while hiding from them what I truly feel.
I can sense the pressure inside, the dam about to break,
A force that is ignored whilst walking unawake,
Cascading all around me, pulling at those who stray
As I hold onto pictures before they float away.
