Dreaming Under The Moonlight Poem by Edmund BaffourAwuah

Dreaming Under The Moonlight

In the beams of the moonlight
We sat to tell our dreams
Singing to our damn souls
Staring deep with sights blurred
At the sketches of our tinted morrows
Dreams embellished
Expressed with unsubtle naivety
Kindling the fires of our imagination
Setting it ablaze
So slowly we burn
Our vague worlds, we burn
Thinking, just thinking
Beliefs of the land afar
The world in the skies
Cutting loose the binding cord
And sucking us away from our honor
Burning the roots of our quintessence
After the twists and turns
Of bidding planes farewell
Drawn into trances deep
Just longing for the day
When our feet shall touch the foreign land
Our eyes, its glamour
And our hands, feel our dreams in form and shape
Someday tomorrow
Someday very soon
