Dreams Poem by Lola Sanchez

Dreams

sometime dreams can get you down
the pace
the rush
the urgency of dreams
can get you down

before this starts to sound like a country song
let me explain
my dreams have turned
from starting blocks to spur me on
to wings of wax
making me fly against the sun
that is
when I have enough guts to put them on

somehow along the way my dreams
turned from the Disney fluff
into unreachable ideals
along the road I lost sight of what I was to become
along the way I lost my way

to You I give these dreams that I hold onto..
which dreams?
do the dreams that do not come true die?
are the unreachable heights
meant never to reached?
