Dreams (Chemo) Poem by Pandora Johnson

Dreams (Chemo)

They Break like waves across my body
Anointing my head in the morning -
Ferrying me as I osmose from soul sleep to aching wakefulness
Kiss the corners of my lips
Remind me to forget
I lamented lauded entreated Prayed
For This
Now I would have it dispatched by dharna
Take it or take me
My breasts and hips wince and whither
My chest sings shallow silver sighs
I inhale dead dying leaves and falling trees
My face is cooled by the earth and my tears
Is this surrender?
I descry a sweet soft peace
Shimmering serenades
Far above behind....away
Deep within
You were Dreaming it says
Now stop crying
