Drink Poem by Clete Peters

Drink

Drink
A month of booze.
Sex.
Pills.
Desperation
Disguised as delight
Delight brought crashing down by
A crippling hangover
Only to be cured by a drink

Drink
A union forged in hell
Unholy yet strangely easy.
Giving yourselves, as
An offering to the Demon
Who only comes out when you
Drink
