Drops Poem by David Aslin

Drops

A dropp suddenly appears right in front of me
I sit and wonder, what makes it so clear,
Light shines through it and amplifies so
Air runs across its surface to disrupt the flow
To touch it, to really feel its texture and nourishment,
Is something that must be bestowed.

Another falls just as I think of you, this time it touches my lips,
As you have touched them, time and time again,
My heart pauses for breath; my mind draws pictures of you upon the glass.

I taste the sensation of the drop….. it tastes of life, of love….
Of salt
The drops, my love are tears for you
