Drowning Poem by Aminath Neena

Drowning

Rating: 4.5

I am spellbound,
absolutely mesmerized
By this volcano
Liquid fire and chocolate bronze
I am soporific
Absolutely terrified
of being pulled headlong in to the core
Sinking deeper and deeper
My mind sends out nerve impulses
I may not be able to resurface
I have lost control
I try to escape with one futile attempt
My heart starts pounding
I am deprived of space
I am no longer alive
I am fused with another
I have drowned with him
