Drowning Poem by Minnie Gehrig

Drowning

I have seen you in my dreams,
where we become the tide,
pulling in and out of each other,
diving deep,
afraid to admit
these things i feel for you,
place them in davy jones locker,
and bury them deep beneath
black and brackish waters,

I am your mermaid,
ruby haired
green eyed
swimming into and out of possibilities,

I place my pearl in the oyster,
with my purity,
with my heart,

my voice, will sing you to your death,
you wouldnt hold up to all
that pure unabashed love,
that asks nothing
seeks nothing
and finding nothing,
lies content,
at the bottom of the darkest darknesses
pining, in silence for you.
