Drums Poem by Atsu Adaletey

Drums

DRUMS
Drumm drumm drumm
Like fontomfrom
Brumm brumm brumm
Like fontomfrom

From far and near we heard the heavy sound of drums
They sound louder in our ear drums
We could not refuse the message of the drums
Or frown at the sight of the drums
Because drums they are and forever they will be drums

We believe that there is a time and a season
We have no choice than to reason
We wish we could run away from confusion for a season to reason

In the midst of confusion, we wanted to get out
Creeping, walking just to move out
But days fly in and fly out

In our darkest hour, we became weary
Our hearts became heavy
Our prayers fled calmly
And we wept silently and miserably

Sometimes we become cold
But are told to be bold
To trust the word, not the world

For we believe that surely
Our souls will rest peacefully

Oh! The storm may stand as a barrier
Luring us to surrender
But, we fear not because we found hope in our deliverer and redeemer
We take no notice of the slenderer
Rather, we will stride to deliver

Never ever shall we doubt or refuse our composition and position in our world of imagination and creation
Oh! In pain, we remain in a season
In faith, we will be delivered with a reason
True it is that there is a time and a season
And a season with a reason
A reason behind a mission

And mission to be carried to a destination
For in season
We weep for a reason
And in season
We will arrive at our destination!
