Drums Of War Poem by Raimi Babatunde

Drums Of War

I hear the drums of war
The days of David and Goliath is here
Who wins in a war?
I haven't seen many
But I remember my Rwanda
The scars still linger

We are citizens of the world
We say "No" to terrorism
That we give peace a chance
Before you throw those nukes
Have you counted the cost?

A "Six" from the west
Is "Nine" from the south
If you still my right to live
Without observating the rules
Please tell me, Who are thou?

You kill in the name of religion
Maim with a glow of pride
You are the real infidel
We might not posses your arsenal
But with our pen, we will fight
And one day, your time will come

I refuse to be a coward
For one day I shall stand before HIM
And tell HIM how I tried my bit
As a beacon of hope
To make the world a safer place
