DuʿĀʾ For The Protection Of Children And Offspring Poem by Mystic Qalandar

O Allah, Most Merciful, Most Kind,
to You I entrust my children and their children—
for no trust placed within Your care
is ever lost, abandoned, or betrayed.

Surround them with Your protection, O Lord,
from every calamity that descends,
from every illness that weakens,
from every harm that approaches unseen.

Guard them by night and by day;
when they walk beneath the sun
and when they rest beneath the darkness.
Be their refuge in every trial,
their safety in every fear,
their light upon every uncertain road.

Keep them far from the company
of those who have strayed from Your path—
from every heart that wears friendship as a garment
while hiding beneath it
wickedness, heedlessness, disobedience,
delusion, betrayal, and deceit.

Do not let false companions
turn their hearts away from You,
nor let the beauty of this world
make them forget the everlasting home.

Protect them, O Allah,
from every pursuit that devours time,
from every pastime that empties the soul,
from every habit that weakens the body,
darkens the mind,
and wastes the gifts You have bestowed.

Guard them from every affliction
that may come upon them
from before them or behind them,
from their right or from their left,
from above them or beneath them.

Be their Guardian when I cannot guard them,
their Helper when my strength fails,
their Shield when danger draws near,
and their Mercy when the world becomes hard.

O Allah, make my children and my progeny
a source of honour—not pride of the ego,
but gratitude before You;
a light in my eyes,
a comfort within my heart,
and a continuing charity
whose goodness outlives my days.

Open their hearts to knowledge
and adorn their knowledge with wisdom.
Give them understanding without arrogance,
strength without cruelty,
wealth without forgetfulness,
and success without distance from You.

Make their hearts gentle toward their parents,
faithful toward their spouses,
tender toward their children,
and merciful toward all whom You have placed
within the circle of their lives.

Make them righteous in secret and in the open,
grateful in ease, patient in hardship,
truthful in speech, pure in intention,
steadfast in worship,
and devoted to You until their final breath.

Let them be the coolness of my eyes,
the peace of my heart,
the fruit of righteous prayer,
and a source of goodness
for this world and the next.

O Allah, preserve them beneath Your care,
guide them beneath Your light,
and gather them beneath Your mercy
on the Day when neither wealth nor offspring
will avail—
except those who come to You
with a sound heart.

Āmīn, O Lord of all the worlds.
Āmīn, O Most Merciful of those who show mercy.
