Dusk Chorus Poem by Shirley Harrison

Dusk Chorus

It's time to leave the house

so slowly I walk the short distance to the door

that takes me outside into the great world

breathing in the misty summers end

I see two barn swallow birds bathing in the water fountain

and as one flies above my head

I can hear a slight melody

and in that moment I forget all my troubles...

and I'm just here

surrounded in the simplicity of this beautiful dusk chorus.
