The fragrance in Summer
lane is wild.
Days pink rose displays
her centre for a bee.
Gentle, quiet sun
laces leaves
with tender brightness
for the bird singing briar,
as early morning busies
herself with waking
to the earth growing green,
serene and unhurried
with its wandering.
