How sweet the relief-
When steady, prolonged rain falls
onto the parched earth.
We are fortunate
to inhabit this small isle
whose moderate clime
is rarely lethal for long
giving us time to repent.
But will we take heed?
Will we change our reckless ways?
Learn how to conserve
the privileges we have -
before it's too late?
Or will we press on
in our myopic stupor
to the bitter end?
Can we curb our stupid greed -
stop killing our Mother - Earth?
