Easter Poem by Conley Murray

Easter

Tho He never told a lie,
they said this man Jesus He must die.

For many Oh how they must have cried,
when they heard that our Lord Jesus was to be crucified.

The soldiers how they must have scorned,
when they put on Jesus head a crown of thorns.

It must have been a terrible site to see,
when they nailed our Lord Jesus to the tree.

The soldiers must have had a cruelly grin,
when they pierced our Lord Jesus sides way deep in.

Oh what pain, and Oh what a shame,
yet not one did He blame.

Jesus said this was to be,
so he could save both you and me.

In the bible as it is read,
in three days He was raised from the dead.
