Ebb And Wave - Poem by Jane Steele

Watching the surfer....
he waits for just the right wave...... patiently....
letting many others pass that are seemingly worthy....
he waits.....
he selects one and begins to paddle...
I wonder why this one....
but he just knows that this is the wave......
I imagine that it's a feeling he can't put into words or convey to someone......
he just knows when it hits.....
he senses it........
he catches the swell at just the right moment......
the surfer and the wave are simpatico........
he paddles in sync....
the swell grows.....
he stands proud and strong.....
the board and he are one...
he gets inside the tube....
shoots the curl and rides the crest....
all the way onto shore.........
in that moment all is right in the world........
it was a perfect ride...
made possible by his own ability....
I realize that this
is the type of love I desire
made possible by my own ability....

Very nice, Jane! I picked up early on in the poem what the surfer represented. I, too, caught a perfect wave recently...she said 'yes! ' Very good job! I am wishing you luck! ! ! <>< (Report) Reply
