'Echoes Of A Fading Light' Poem by Gerbera bloom

'Echoes Of A Fading Light'

How can I explain this emptiness I feel?
A hollowness that echoes, a soul that's lost its zeal
A soul adrift, without a place to call home
A heart that beats but feels forever alone.

They say those who don't belong, create art divine
But what about me, who's hated, left behind?

I scroll through feeds, and see lives so bright
People laughing, growing, in warm and loving light
But the more I grow, the more I lose my way
The home that should be mine, has no space for my day.

They say I'm not grateful, that I never try
But don't they see, I'm human, with emotions that cry?
Festivals come, and people dance with glee
But I'm left with tears, wondering who I used to be.

I look in the mirror, and a stranger stare back
Dark circles, pale skin, a reflection so cracked
I search for the girl, with dreams and hope so bright
A stranger's face in the mirror's gaze
Dark circles, tangled hair, a faded haze.

Her skin, a pale and lifeless sea
A reflection of the soul, lost and free
Tears fall, and I recognize the pain
A shattered dream, a heart in vain.

I search for the girl I used to be
But find only shadows, where love used to be

How did I become the shadow of my former self?
A soul that's lost, and a heart that's dry.

They call me the hopeless one, with a life that's full and bright
But beneath the facade, my soul is a canvas of forgotten light.

I never found my voice in poetry's gentle rhyme
But now, it's the only language that echoes my mind
Now all I do is write, the only thread that's left to hold tight
The sole solace that keeps my shattered self-align.
