Echoes Of Endurance

Echoes of Endurance

Our kind must face the tide it cannot know,
As fortunes shift and structures twist and turn;
Though pressure bends the posture to the ground,
We still endure through all that time may burn.

Great empires fall beneath the shifting sand,
The grandest towers crumble into dust,
Yet inner strength outlives the fading crown,
And outlasts iron swallowed up by rust.

Mankind still stretches forward through the dark,
A human thread that trials cannot break,
The legacy outlives the passing storm,
To claim the future that the brave will make.

The deepest roots take hold in hidden earth,
Defying winds that strip the branches bare,
For life persists against the freezing cold,
And finds a way when driven to despair.

Though walls are built to tame the wild unknown,
We learn to yield the things we cannot hold,
Yet like the ancient shadows gone before,
Extinction claims us when our tale is told.
