Echoes Of What Remains Poem by ashok jadhav

Echoes Of What Remains

I walked again the silent lane
Where once your laughter met the day;
The trees still swayed, the river ran,
But you had quietly slipped away.
The wind spoke low through bending grass,
And whispered names I longed to hear;
It carried all my silent tears
And held the weight of vanished years.
At first, my heart was sharp with ache,
A cry that found no echo near;
The world moved on, unfeeling, fast,
While I stayed still with all my fear.
Yet time, like rain on waiting soil,
Softened the edges grief had made;
I found you in the things you left,
In every memory that stayed.
Your touch lives on in tender deeds,
Your voice in quiet lessons taught;
Though death has claimed your living form,
Your love endures in every thought.
And so I walk, both lost and found,
Through fields where shadows softly play;
For though you are not by my side,
Your presence walks with me each day.
