Eclectic Manifesto Poem by Ananta Madhavan

Eclectic Manifesto

I am partial to broths,
Goulash, and my native ‘Avial',

I am partial to broths,
Goulash and 'avial',
A native vegetarian stew
Of beans, carrots, curry leaves
And Moringo or 'drumstick' and herbs
In a creamy sauce of tangy curds
And coconut gratings.

Such a dish is both
Delicious and debatable,
Like any eclectic anthology.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I also think of my father, whose novel,
'The Silver Pilgrimage', mentions
the south Indian dish called 'Avial'.
