Eclipse Poem by Courtney Beaudry

Eclipse

When clouds refuse to part their way
Refusing me your light of day
I can't help
But feel you now

Sometimes I see
The deepest part of me
The wind above,
the ground below
Between, you my love, in-tow
And I wonder, I feel
How your grace could be real

Sometimes the distance maims me
My voice betrays me
I just need to hear your heart
beating sound
This love is like a sparrow
Flying free, above the trees
Without you I'm tied
to the ground

If I beckon, will you come?
When I call, will you answer?
You're a piece of me
The favorite part
Of my heart

Smile and I'll be happy
Play upon my heart strings
Don't ever for a second
let me go

Just reside with me contently
I'll breathe you in and know
Just keep me close
and I will know
