Eight Nature Haikus Poem by Paul Holmes

Eight Nature Haikus

Blue Flame

Dancing on the coals
It curled its ribbon of blue
Hypnotic wonder.

Clouded Yellow

Dusted in pastel
Powdered fragile lemon wings
Dancing in freedom.

Crescent Moon

Silver fingernail
Adorning the velvet sky –
God’s great handiwork.

Fluke

Whale tail carves blue sea
Leaves signature in its wake
Eloquence of grace.

A Hundred Hues

Abundant tints tell
Autumn is here with such
A glorious show.

October Gold

Like crunchy cornflakes
Underfoot, rustling gold leaves -
Beauty in decay.

Seashell

She whispers to me
From this curious hollow
So mesmerising.

Sunrise and Sunset

Breathtaking colours
Start or end the day, focus
Of serenity.
