Elder Empowerment. - Poem by Anand kumar.
Age is only a chronological number;
that comes and goes in our slumber.
When the Sun rises in the east,
that is our day the best.
When the rays of light fall
it is a day we call.
A new day; a new arrival;
a bonus with a gift,
that gives us a joy of lift.
We, the elderly face this with all our might.
A bonus day for us to remain independent,
with pride and dignity.
With the grace of the Almighty,
to move with the community,
to prove our ability.
With all our physical strength,
with all our good health.
Not to feel alone,
but to move with the group,
with all our strong hope.
Let us live a life of will and pleasure,
to make our life a golden treasure.
Nights may go and days may come,
with abuses and misuses.
Let us live our life without prejudices.
Old age is a second childhood,
where pain and agony may come and go.
Let us face them with fortitude,
by praying to God with all our gratitude.
