Elephants In The Park Poem by Roy Johnson

Elephants In The Park

The elephants in the park,
both young and old,
are delightful to behold.

Much better than the elephant in the room
but much harder to find
until you search the mind.

They look so grand
as they trundle over the grassy knoll,
tail to trunk, down to the water hole

hidden in the forest
amongst the tall dense trees
with grasses up to their knees

and while playing and splashing in the water hole
they blend in so well
that you really can’t tell

that they’re just a figment
of your imagination.
So release the inhibition,

let the mind flow free,
let the elephant out of the room
and into the park
to frolic and play
well into the dark
and all the next day.

And life will be nice.
