Embark Poem by Laurence Overmire

Embark

Gripping the rope
Up the plank
Grab the hand of a sailor
Foot down
Aboard and about
The wind whipping through the
Mainsail, tugging at the jib

Gone for a New World

An ocean between continents
Life in the flight of a gull
Carry me in the light of
North Star night
The bounding of a dream
On the wild wave of
Fortune.
