Embracing Another! Poem by Flencirose Basera

Embracing Another!

Judge I should not,
Nor condemn another man.
For who is I?
To judge another self.

How can I condemn who they are?
How can I judge who they love?
How can I dislike how they walk or dress?
Am I any different?

I thought I was different.
I thought I was the example of a child of God.
Is it true?
So why do I possess the same?

Am I now judged any different?
Do I embrace what I condemned?
Do I see My God in the person?
The Lord who so loved us all!

Confusion reigns within me.
Changes brought on not by choice!
Assimulation by common factors!
How do I connect the two?

In every man there is He!
Do I see the He in the other?
Or my vision is clouded by judgement!
Do I wish to condemn or love?

To love the other,
To encourage and embrace.
To listen and give hope.
Brings love and hope to all.
