Embracing Mortality's Whispers

Rating: 5.0

In the depths of shadows, where darkness resides,
Death stirs awake, with solemn eyes.
He wanders amidst the bustling streets,
Observing souls lost in worldly feats.

Oh, mortal beings, so blind and unaware,
You dance with time, without a care.
Your hearts beat fast, your dreams take flight,
But do you truly grasp the gift of life?

With each breath drawn, a precious chance,
To seize the moment, to join life's dance.
Yet you drift along, in a passive haze,
Deaf to the whispers of your numbered days.

Death, the silent observer, cannot comprehend,
How you squander moments, unable to transcend.
You chase illusions, elusive and grand,
But miss the beauty slipping through your hand.

In shared laughter and tears that fall,
In nature's wonders, both big and small,
In acts of love and kindness shown,
Lies the essence of a life fully known.

But you rush and strive, with frantic pace,
Trading presence for a future's embrace.
You gather treasures, possessions amassed,
Yet lose the joy in the moments that pass.

Death marvels at your futile chase,
For time cannot be won in life's race.
He wonders, why do you not see,
The truth that lies within mortality?

So awaken now, from your slumber deep,
Embrace the life you're meant to keep.
For death reminds, with whispered breath,
That life is fleeting, but love conquers death.

Let not the days slip through your grasp,
Live each moment, make each second last.
In the end, it's not what you possess,
But how you lived, that will truly impress.
