Emerald Green Poem by Thomas Hooker

Emerald Green

Devotion burning
in pale white,
the sun bleached out
on a cloudless sky,
blue water finds
me returning to
the sand, once
polished by the surf,
there's one small
pebble that stands
out from the rest,
reaching down
to pick it up
I find it's smooth
as glass and
emerald green.
