Emotional Overdose Poem by Ali Rahimi

Emotional Overdose

In the mornings,
I like to wake up to your warm beautiful eyes,
your touch and kisses I dream of,
the slippery mirage of dreams I can’t escape,
I don’ t want to breathe, nor blink lest,
I lose a drop of your heavenly being next to me,
yes, no blink no breathe no pulse, no words! darling,
want to immerse myself in your fever,
with my whole fabric in devotion,
an emotional overdose, indeed,
I have all the passion in this world,
All the affection, vigor and zest on earth,
This is right from a true lover’s heart,
For your monumental beauty and nicety,
Yes sweetie, my grasp for your love seems in vain,
Like a strong lion in the land of foxes,
Your touch is what I’m missing,
touch me! All over, over and over again,
want to indulge myself with an overdose of your touches
yes, an overdose!
I want to drown myself in the sea of your kisses,
Kiss me on the lips,
your lips are unending source of life and being,
Much sweeter than Turkish delight, or Persian baklava,
want an overdose of your love,
to satiate my thirst for,
the long lost aspired union,
want to cherish the sanctuary of your soul,
pray forever in the synagogue of your love,
lie down on the holy shrine of your feet,
yes I am your prayer,
worshipper revolving around your divine galaxy,
want to embrace the tranquility of your touch, your eyes, your smiles,
love me, want to be intoxicated with you,
be high on emotion,
want to guzzle the panacea of your medicinal kisses,
the cure-all,
adore the heat and passion of your healing words,
want to live and die for your affection,
I fear non, agonize non, grief non,
next to you darling
Want an emotional overdose! …
