Emotional Pretzel Poem by Kai Ford

Emotional Pretzel

Flashing images of our last goodbye beam through my day
the bitter bulge returns at the thought.
How that became something else eludes the most profound mind,
Questions every motive and categorizes even the simplest...
My worth is on the decline as you weigh me against cheaper metals like copper
Constant barrage of insulting reassurance of my worth has taken its toll.
My light shines less bright for you
My loves is less potent
My face that once haunted, has subsided
My lips that were once praised for their form
has found a gravestone with the others in your cemetery...
my portent fear.
