Kris Oberckal

There's anger and there's sadness
tired from all the tears you shed
there is a thin line between sanity and madness
I have all these emotions running through my head

There are many things that you can feel
Lust for revenge and vengeance
Break the ice and break the seal
Or pity and understanding
for the ones that didn't get a chance
for the ones who never got to feel

There's confusion and there's delight
When your not sure, there's no clear mind
When everything is dark, you cannot see the light
But then it's found, for it was sought after
And your heart and the people around it
Get engulfed in happiness and joyous laughter

There's excitement and then surprise
When it seems your not alone in this world
Seems like everything is going your way, it's perfect
and the only thing left to do, is to open your eyes
Either happy, shocked or horribly disappointed
If there was honesty and no evil lies, it was worth it

There's fear and there's pressure
When there's a sharp turn on the road to salvation
You don't know what hides behind the corner
Panic may take over and corrupt your imagination
It will take your mind and make you blind
But still, either mad or sane, you will reach your destination

There's love and there's attraction
When it seems your engulfed in flame of passion
It's the soul that matters, beauty's a distraction
And when it seems life is perfect, without your heart glistening
breathe in and realize, half your heart is missing
Love grants what many do not have, happiness and satisfaction

And when the day is dark and gloomy
and there's a misty veil of shadow covering your mind
Breathe in life and think of all the things you've ever thought or said
All your actions or decisions, and think how they affected your mind
and once again, maybe for the last time or forever more
Engulf yourself in all the wonderful emotions running through your head

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Emotions, like memories, are another thing that without, life would be empty, and potentially meaningless.
