Empathy Poem by Mary Champion

Empathy

I think that I know how you feel.
I have been there.
It's a bleak, dark, terrible place
and I've been there.
Life has lost meaning and hope.
Yes, I've been there.
That almost unbearable pain.
Oh, I've been there.

But my Comforter came with his Truth
in the darkness.
He lit up the path out of Hell-
out of heartbreak.
It was slow. It took years,
but I got there;
to a place where the pain almost healed.
Hope you do too.
