Emptiness. Poem by Sarah Perron

Emptiness.

Rating: 4.5

What now lies motionless in my chest,
used to beat so strong.

It stopped beating
as life became hard,
now it lies to rest.

As days passed a barrier was made,
so that it could never be done wrong.

nothing can penetrate this iron cage,
for my heart to be free,
would leave me a mess.

I am empty.
It's been to long,

But, the one thing i can never confess,
is what lies motionless in my chest,
caged away from love.
