Empty Poem by Harley Halford

Empty

Rating: 4.5

the emptiness takes over and i
drown in its darkness. its cold,
and to climb my mountain, i give my best.

my mountain of secrets,
it's overwhelming. no one knows
how much it takes, how
much energy it takes to just 'be'.

finding myself is hard, it's like
breathing in a pool of water.
wondering every minute, every day,
how much of myself will i give away.

i see myself fade away, turn to
dust. the little pieces of me spread
over the ground and my courage
sways, but i say 'i must'.
