Empty Heart Poem by Ellie McDowall

Empty Heart

It pumps everyday

A working muscle

Gets stronger

The harder it pumps

Yet it is still so weak

Its broken fragile

Like a piece of glass

See through like a window

But filled with an ocean

Of love

The love starts to drain

It is completely broken

Its pumping nothing

No love, nothing

Just emptiness

This is exhausting

Painful; weak

I need to stay strong

I cannot though

Because I have an

Empty heart.
