Empty Lines Poem by Ezekiel Valdez

Empty Lines

Pick a book from a self to find it empty inside
Because the book choose you to fill in its lines
Fill it with what is up for you to decide
It can be thoughts from your mind with illustrations from your eyes
With a Plot driven by your conscience as its guide
As the author of the book your job is to change it from being empty to alive

But an empty book on a self is something very hard to find
Others will hear of it then try to influence you as to what to write inside
But pay them no mind
You want this book to be one of a kind
So don’t make it into a genre that’s so easily categorized
Or a leaf in the wind pushed in directions others decide
Because the title of this book is “life” and life is how you make it
So how will you fill in your lines?
