Empty Space Poem by Alade Abayomi Idris

Empty Space

When the stage becomes an empty space

Where do you return to?

When the light goes out unforetold

How would you navigate your way in the dark?

When your friends have all gone to answer their calls

How do you account yours?

Now that the stage is busy

Actors are pretending

And audience are audiencing

Where do you return to

When the stage becomes an empty space

From an empty space where it had emerged.
