Empty Words Poem by Sally Walker

Empty Words

When everything is lost….
When all your words are empty…
You're left with nothing to look forward to.
No one to talk to.
For when you do-
everything you say,
They may…
Turn into a joke.
As they do nearly everything…
Everything you find difficult-
They laugh at.
Everything you cry for-
they say is easy.
Everything you work for-
they ignore.
They twist what you say.
So their story they tell is interesting.
Turning your right to speech
Pointless.
With unreliable,
Misunderstood,
Lost,
Empty thoughts.
You speak and cease to portray real meaning to anyone.
For others,
One side
Equals both.
Your side,
Is simply irrelevant.
