Encroaching Walls Poem by Justice Williams

Encroaching Walls

In concrete tombs, where shadows loom,
A tale of woe, a world consumed.
Bars like a chorus, a desperate song,
Echoes of souls, gone gravely wrong.

Inch by inch, the walls encroach,
A space too small, a spirit broached.
Overcrowded cells, where hope's confined,
Aching hearts, the human bind.

Numbers surge, a ceaseless tide,
Justice strained, compassion denied.
Dreams deferred, in crowded bunks,
Innocence lost, in clanging trunks.

But hear me now, let truth resound,
In these dark depths, a truth is found.
Within these hearts, a fire's roar,
A spirit fierce, yearning for more.

For justice roars, a mighty sound,
In cells too full, a plea is bound.
To lift the weight, unshackle chains,
And break free from these binding reins.

In unity we stand, for change we fight,
To mend this system, set it right.
For in the heart of this crowded storm,
Lies a spark, a chance to transform.

Let's rise above, let voices swell,
Break down these walls, let freedom quell.
For in this battle, we'll find our way,
To brighter tomorrows, a brighter day.

In shadows deep, resilience gleams,
A spark within, defying seams.
From pain emerges strength untamed,
A spirit fierce, forever unclaimed.

Yet still, the walls, they close in tight,
The system groans, under the weight of night.
But hope persists, it cannot die,
In every heart, a burning sky.

With every word, with every plea,
We fight for those who long to be free.
In crowded cells, in silent cries,
A call for change, it never dies.

So let us stand, let truth prevail,
Break down these walls, let justice sail.
For in this struggle, we'll find our way,
To brighter tomorrows, a brighter day.
