Enlightenment Poem by Duke Thomas Dolorical

Enlightenment

Acceptance of one’s fate,
This is enlightenment.

If you are going to become Buddha,
Be one.
When it is time to become sick,
Just be sick.
When it is time to sleep,
Just sleep.
When it is time to be well,
Then be well.
When it is not your time,
Then wait.
When it is time to think,
Then ponder.
When it is time to die,
Then just die and wither with nature.

This is enlightenment.
Dancing, like trees, to a music that does
Not only call your ears
But calls as well your heart and soul;
Like trees, we dance.
When the world forbids dancing,
Like trees we wait patiently or
Like trees we make do with dancing in one spot
Not thinking.
Not stopping half-way.
Not copying the music
But becoming the music.

And when they say “stop! ”, I won’t.
But when it is time to, I will.
After all, if we are not living on the edge,
Then we are taking too much space!

This is enlightenment!
