Envy And The Discontented Heart Poem by RIC BASTASA

Envy And The Discontented Heart

these faulty eyes
see what we are not
comparing the colors
of the invisible wind
testing the depths of the
waters
always complaining
about the scent of the air
the slowness of the rivers
the dirt in the creek

i should have let them all
pluck the eyeballs from
their sockets.
