Epode#7 Part 2 Poem by robert dickerson

Epode#7 Part 2

Things change so
Fast, friends become friend's friends

The bands change, the now
Familiar beginning of chagrin

Gnaws, bluntiing itself like a tooth.
I can do the math, the aftermath, hey,

So what I don't need now
Is a credit check, ok?

Could anybody really do as you say,
Dear, they should soon be protein,

They should soon be whey
Dutifully compounding itself on your ribs.

Oh, Instinct, gleaming and sprouting
Simple as the grass

Telling me, telling me
The greens of your elbow maws

Dampen and glower, like embers
Ending a holiday and

A power, a power
Slides from your jaw.
