Eros' Oath Poem by Quwam Ishola

Eros' Oath

Words roll off your tongue
Into my gaping heart.
Your language is impeccable,
From forever and infinity
Your mellifluous talk,
It's awakening again
These appendages I never sense
Until you sing your songs.
I appear from beneath the guise
As you cover me in tinsels.
I swear by Eros,
I have never heard another's song.
I wouldn't, even if I wished it.
It will neither amuse nor amaze
Or force me to focus my gaze.
It will bellow the ocean
And burrow into space.
It won't ignite me as yours does.
I'm buoyed on Sol by the pronouncements of Venus.
I'm bound and frozen
Into a figurine of sort.
As I retire from the throes of blitheness—
A heady dose of criminal frolic.
To your power, your enchantment,
I'm forever a servile subject
