Error's Belief Poem by Sydney Hatch

Error's Belief

With eyes wide open, I look yonder to see
Where will they settle, what influences me
Should I ponder awhile or just let them be free
With no thought for what motivates and feeds their glee
Tis a food no less that will impress upon me
Forming beliefs so solid they will be my opinion of thee
Am I thus looking for stones, that I aim to throw
Or bread, that will help your family to grow
Do I look out as face from thronging crowd
Or one alone, that stands knowingly apart
Are my thoughts from Bernay now mistakenly cast
Or truly discerned thus free from the past
Perhaps I've just lived for amusements and laughs
Now deeply Mesmerized and acting out error's belief
We all must decide before its too late
Of who is really behind our opinions and fate
