Escape Poem by sandra lagos

Escape

Blood that drips, makes me see red as sanity slips
No more time, waited for something that never came.....a sign
No hope salvaged, now my cuts I cannot bandage
Now I have pain, that's like taking a sledgehammer to the brain
Tried to hold on, but my exsistence to me seemed wrong
Had to find a release, as I saw God ignoring my pleas
Now it's too late, somehow I had to find a quicker escape
As I take my last breath, I rejoice in the painlessness of death
