Eternal Poem by Herdiza Oludare Lasmo

Eternal

You walk alone
With a heart of stone
You hide your agony
From life's treachery
Tears roll down your face
Engraving more pain
Life takes away what
You gain
Your soul tied with chains
You are the prisoner
That the world claims
Trapped in these four walls
A bleeding angel calls
Losing its lovely features
It was once a human creature
Recently burnt
Screaming its endless cries
Haunted by life's lies
All faith was lost
An angel paid a heavy cost
The heaven's above rolled the dice
Without having to think twice
Denied from its existence
The angel gave up its persistence
Once strong
Now weak
No longer seeking
A peak of hope
The skies cope
By stealing the angel's entity
To finally give it a sense of clarity
Putting the angel to eternal sleep
Because life's burdens were far too steep
