Eternal Love (Sonnet) Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

Eternal Love (Sonnet)

Your grace commands the fading night to hide,
A splendid moon above the autumn shroud;
Your morning light restores my weary tide,
With sacred peace and lasting joy endowed.

Yet ruthless Time will reap the fairest bloom,
And steal the vibrant canvas of our youth;
But love defies the tyrant's mortal doom,
And stands unaltered as eternal truth.

Though fate unleash its dark and bitter gale,
And cruel winds demand a toll of tears,
Our bonded souls will over grief prevail,
To sing their triumph through the endless years.

For though all earthly wealth must turn to dust,
This love survives, immortal and august.
